Draft plans for 5 forests in NW Montana released |

After months of public meetings, open houses, comments, blood, sweat
and I'm sure a few tears, the five forests in Northwest Montana have
released their Draft Plans for public comment. The KIPZ (Idaho
Panhandle & Kootenai National Forests) planning team and WMPZ
(Bitterroot, Lolo and Flathead National Forest) planning team have
released their plans within a few days of each other.

House Passes Rehberg-Sponsored Right to Ride Act |

WASHINGTON - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, announced today the
U.S. House of Representatives passed the Right-to-Ride Livestock Act,
which protects the right of Montana's sportsmen and women to ride
saddle stock animals on public lands. Rehberg was a sponsor of
the legislation when it was introduced earlier this year. |

Rehberg Fights for Montana's Public Lands, Blocks Provision Calling for Land Sales |

Congressman Denny Rehberg announced good news this week for Montana's
sportsmen and women. A Bush Administration budget plan calling
for the sale of public lands in the Western US, designed to generate
funds for the Treasury and pay for government programs, was not
included in the 2007 Interior Appropriations spending bill.
Rehberg successfully fought to have the land sales language removed
from the bill. |

Attached is our 3rd comment letter on
the Whitetail-Pipestone Travel Plan DEIS. This set of comments is
focused on the Hay Creek, State Creek, and Four Corners to Homestake
areas plus enhancements to the current proposal. We encourage everyone
to send in as many comments as possible and to use any or all of these
comments.
